Easter Party and Egg Hunt #1

Today was Ella's preschool Easter Party. As you see she was very excited about the day. The children hunted for 6 eggs each, which took all of 30+/- seconds! They were funny to watch. Ella was excited because Chuck and I were both there. They sang some of the sweetest songs and talked about Jesus' death and the fact that, in their words, "He's ALIVE". It was so sweet to hear them tell the gospel truth about the meaning of Easter. Pure excitement! Happy Easter!

She is growing up...

I looked into the eyes and face of my 8 year old this afternoon and said to her, "You are becoming so growny". Is that even a word? I looked into her eyes and could see confidence, which is hard to notice in a shy person. She is more than 4 feet tall (4' 3" I think) and wears a size 4-4.5 shoe at age 8 so physically, yes she is growing up. But in alot of the things she does and in the ways she acts, she is "growny". I remember when she was in 3 year old preschool and I began working part-time at her school, where I still work today, and she and I would "hang-out" after preschool each day. She would go anywhere I went. We would eat Labamba (mexican) for lunch about every other day, and to this day the employees there still know her by name. She went everywhere with me and we would even take naps together in the afternoons, especially after I was pregnant with angel #2. Emma was my buddy then and she still is today. Thank you, God, for her! There is none other like her!

Home for a week

Here are a few more pictures from the most magical place on Earth!

We made it home from Disney World last Sunday around 5:00 pm and we haven't stopped since. Thanks to Tide and $24 in quarters I was able to wash, dry and fold all of our clothes while we were at Disney World except for the last day's worth. But we must have bought something from every shop we went in to at all 4 parks because we had a zillion bags to unpack (give or take a few). I was able to find 2 princess gifts for Ella's summer birthday without her knowing that I know she will love...one was a Cinderella musical jewelry box and the other was a castle/princess snow globe. The favorite souveniors for the kiddos were Legos from Downtown Disney, which, aren't those available at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us? But I guess there is just something more exciting about buying them from THE Lego store.
The week has been very busy and I feel so behind on Easter decorations. We aren't having an Easter egg hunt at our house this year, and we don't plan to have company on Easter Day so the extent of our Easter decor may include the children's Easter buckets filled with whatever eggs we find at the 3 different egg hunts that we will be attending...so far (school, church, family).
I will add this: My mom and I went to see Chonda Pierce last night in concert here in Dothan. She was hilarious! She had an opening act of sorts named Bone...He was in the tv shows My Name is Earl and Medium, and was also in a movie with Sandra Bullock, each time playing small parts. I look to seeing more of him in the future because he was sooo funny. Mom and I had a good time and actually had seats on the third row. The tickets were her birthday present from me this past February. Had a great time!
Forgive the randomness of this post...I am a little pushed up if you know what I mean. No idea what that means? Pushed up=swamped with lots to do!

Currently At Disney World!

We are currently in the most "Magical" place on Earth. We arrived mid-afternoon Sunday and went to Magic Kingdom until 1:00 AM...That is right, one hour past midnight! We were sooo tired. The girls hung with us, even when I woke them for a character breakfast Monday morning that was scheduled for 9:30! Needless to say we came back to the resort (or "hotel" as Ella calls it) and took a nap before heading back to Magic Kingdom for another long night. It is "somewhat" easier to ride the rides at night because there are "somewhat" fewer people in the parks plus the fireworks are the most awesome display I have ever seen! We had another fun day today at Animal Kingdom and then the girls FINALLY got to swim in the pool at the resort. I asked them if we might could have stayed in Dothan, rented a hotel room there that had a pool, and have saved lots of money...Would they have been just as happy? But I knew the answer before I even asked them because they have had such a great time the last few days. Memories being made for sure! During one of the nightly parades at Magic Kingdom we saw Snow White walking along the parade route. She came over the Ella and said how much she liked Ella's red hairbow and Ella lunged towards her and hugged her like she had met a movie star! That little girl was so excited! Emma has been a big help this week too but I can tell she is enjoying the family time as well. She has pretty much made our schedule and chosen the rides we have riden because she knows what she wants to ride and Ella is just along for the fun! Here are some pictures from the hundreds we have taken the last 3 days. Hope you enjoy them and can tell how much fun we are having!

Counting the Days...

We are soooo excited about our upcoming Spring Break trip to Disney World. We went last Spring Break but it was our first time going with our children so I had us scheduled to the max, so this year we are going to be a little more relaxed with our schedule. Those of you who know me know that this means having a character breakfast at 9:00 instead of 8:00, but we will still be very much "organized". My children loved Disney last year and have talked about the upcoming trip since we made reservations back before Christmas. My ever-so-thoughtful joking husband told the children that if they loved Disney so much then they ought to tell me to go back to work full-time so we could afford to go to Disney 4 times a year! Ella thought that sounded great (4 times a year) but Emma declined his idea after she thought about me being back at work full-time. I love her! Well we started our 30 day countdown back...well 20 days ago and today we have only 10 days left. There is so much non-Disney stuff to do between now and next Sunday that it is hard to believe we will actually be leaving in 10 days. Expect to see lots of pictures from the trip!
